» Cheerful;
Kaoru's personality is incredibly cheerful as well as optimistic. His true nature is that of an energetic and adventurous guy who doesn't really mind if people think of him as a weirdo.
This is sometimes buried within him, however, because of his paranoia as well as the possible side-effects of his medication.

» Friendly;
Even though he's often playing videogames rather than socializing, when it comes to it he is extremely friendly. Maybe too much. He likes to make people feel welcome around him, as well as enjoying meeting new faces as long as they don't dig too deep into his personal life. 

» Clown;
The typical comic relief, he tends to mess up a lot in front of other people, and his attitude towards it often brings about laughter or smiles. He's actually unaware of what's so funny about the things he does, but he's happy to bring smiles upon people's faces.

» Secret keeper;
While he doesn't mind people judging him from his outside, he does mind when it is from the inside. He keeps his "condition" as a secret he won't share-- mainly under his parents' influence, and the growing fear he has towards the things he sees.
Having to bear with that particular secret made him be pretty good at keeping secrets in general.

» Paranoid;
Because of the fear he learned to have towards the still unexplainable Youmu, he is extremely paranoid about them. While he gets to see them on a daily basis, he tries to ignore them the best he can-- but if the Youmu get too close and start feeling too real, he will freak out and have a panic attack.
